Unveiling trends in digital workplace transformation

A U.S. survey report examining digital workplace maturity across tools, processes, productivity, collaboration, security preparedness, employee experience, and change management, with findings segmented by experience, sector, organization size, work mode, team size, and function.

 


The report places the United States at Level 3 of digital workplace maturity, with an average score of 61.0 versus a global average of 62.3. More than 600 U.S. professionals were surveyed, with 42.8% of respondents at Level 3 and 35.2% at Level 2.a.

Technology records the highest maturity score among sectors at 66.2, while logistics records the lowest at 53.5. Hybrid and remote work environments show higher maturity than traditional office and travel settings.

The report examines workplace productivity and collaboration practices, including task delegation, progress tracking, calendars, service requests, announcement channels, cross-team dependencies, and document feedback.

It also details cybersecurity practices, highlighting gaps in areas such as automated security alerts and the management of shared-account credentials.

The report finds that more than 70% of respondents use organization-provided workplace calendars, more than 60% use some form of ticketing system, and more than 70% say feedback directly enhances productivity.

The final sections address digital workplace tools, AI adoption, document management, change management, employee experience, and shadow applications.

AI adoption is led by content enhancement (44%) and workflow and task automation (32%), while predictive analytics for business insights reaches 12%.

Employees who experienced major workplace changes achieved a maturity score of 78, compared with 55 among those who experienced no significant change.

The report also identifies the continued use of non-IT-approved applications for file sharing, project management, communication, training, password management, and AI.
