TD SYNNEX launches FinOps practice to manage cloud spending

With real-time analytics and specialized consulting, the new practice aims to align IT and finance around data-driven decision-making.

How well-managed is your cloud spending?

A new initiative seeks to turn cloud financial management into a competitive advantage.

TD SYNNEX has launched a global FinOps practice, powered by IBM Cloudability, designed to help technology partners optimize spending across multicloud environments.

Amid the rapid adoption of cloud services and increasing pressure from finance departments to control costs, the multinational introduced the TD SYNNEX Global FinOps Practice, an initiative developed with IBM Cloudability to enhance financial governance in complex IT ecosystems.

A pioneering practice.

This new offering presents a structured approach that integrates real-time analytics, cost control, and guidelines for financial decision-making.
It marks the first time a global technology distributor implements a comprehensive FinOps practice with worldwide reach.

Sergio Farache, Chief Strategy Officer at TD SYNNEX, explains:

“Cloud adoption is accelerating, CFOs are demanding tighter cost controls, and partners are under pressure to deliver more value with fewer resources. With Global FinOps Practice, we are enabling our partners to turn cloud financial management from a challenge into a competitive advantage.”

The program is designed for cloud service resellers, managed service providers (MSPs), and system integrators managing complex, multicloud environments.
It provides tools, technical training, expert consulting, and hands-on resources that allow partners to build or strengthen their own FinOps capabilities.

Core program components.

Key elements of the practice include:

Regional and global Centers of Excellence staffed by FinOps experts

Visual dashboards and advanced analytics powered by IBM Cloudability

Advisory services for right-sizing and savings planning

Support with budgeting, forecasting, and executive-level reporting

Enablement resources to help partners develop or evolve their FinOps practices

According to IDC, the global FinOps market is currently valued at $18.5 billion and is expected to grow by more than 16% by 2028.
Still, many organizations struggle to monitor cloud expenses, allocate spending accurately, or demonstrate return on investment.
Initiatives like this one aim to address those gaps by offering tangible tools for more efficient resource management.

David La Rose, General Manager, Sell, IBM Ecosystem, comments:

“The market is seeing new opportunities in supporting the evolving needs of cloud users, who are looking to streamline operations, drive profitable growth, and meet customer demands. This new practice, with IBM Cloudability at its core, delivers a differentiated FinOps solution to support customers’ cloud programs today and as they evolve.”

Availability and initial outcomes.

The practice also leverages TD SYNNEX’s StreamOne® IaaS platform, adding capabilities in automation, analytics, and lifecycle management of cloud services.

Its flexible framework is designed to accommodate different levels of partner maturity without disrupting existing service models, ultimately helping them enhance competitiveness in a market where operational efficiency is increasingly critical.

Warren Cornelius, Managing Director at Sincera, states:

“Our collaboration with TD SYNNEX was key to achieving significant cost savings. Their innovative quota-sharing fiscal strategy secured optimal pricing for reserved instances and managed long-term commitments to lower cloud costs for our clients, while ensuring Sincera maintained positive margins. They also provided excellent post-implementation support, which ensured a smooth transition for both our team and our customers.”

The TD SYNNEX Global FinOps Practice is now available to partners procuring cloud services through TD SYNNEX.
