SAP and AWS launch GenAI to solve critical business challenges

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and SAP have announced a joint initiative to develop generative artificial intelligence (AI) applications and agents designed to tackle complex business challenges quickly and efficiently.
Many companies recognize the transformative potential of generative AI but often lack clarity on how to implement it.
Through this collaboration, both companies aim to simplify the integration of these technologies with strategic data from ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
This enables benefits such as optimized delivery routes, proactive logistics issue detection, and more accurate financial forecasting.
The partnership combines SAP’s technological expertise with AWS’s generative AI services, supported by teams of specialists, consultants, and solution architects.
Additionally, it will provide technical resources, cloud credits, and other incentives for partners to design, test, and deploy AI-based industry solutions.

This new program marks a significant milestone, as it delivers the security and flexibility needed to develop generative solutions using Amazon Bedrock, capable of analyzing and acting on SAP’s most critical data. This empowers businesses to transform years of information into actionable insights and progress toward more agile, data-driven models.”
Tools and Benefits.
According to Philipp Herzig, Chief Technology and Artificial Intelligence Officer at SAP:
“With this joint program, we provide organizations with tools to rapidly and accurately address their most complex operational challenges. By combining the power of our integrated SAP BTP platform with AWS’s business process expertise and AI capabilities, it is now possible to create specialized agents that detect financial anomalies in real time or automatically adjust the supply chain during a crisis.”
Partners will be able to leverage tools such as Amazon Bedrock, including language models like Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude.
These solutions are integrated within SAP AI Foundation on the SAP Business Technology Platform, enabling more efficient development and scaling of solutions.
This initiative builds upon the previous collaboration between AWS and SAP, which have worked together to modernize enterprise systems for companies like Hyundai Motor Group, Moderna, and Zurich Insurance Group.
These organizations are already migrating their operations to the cloud, facilitating the integration of generative AI capabilities.
Allies and Use Cases.
Among the program’s initial strategic allies are global consultancies such as Accenture and Deloitte. These firms support the development of advanced solutions to address complex challenges.

Meanwhile, Nishita Henry, Global Commercial Director of AWS at Deloitte Consulting LLP, commented:

Currently, we are developing a financial tool based on Amazon Bedrock for healthcare and life sciences companies, helping them optimize their product portfolios, improve forecast accuracy, and maintain competitive pricing even in uncertain scenarios.”
