In April 2025, the crypto market celebrates a
significant milestone: the first anniversary of Bitcoin’s most recent halving event, which historically marks the beginning of a new phase of valuation for the cryptocurrency.

In this context, Bitcoin has once again surpassed the US$94,000 mark after several weeks of declines, reigniting optimism among investors and enthusiasts.

Impact of the Halving.

According to Guilherme Nazar, Regional Vice President of Binance for Latin America, this moment strengthens the perception that Bitcoin has firmly established itself as a long-term asset:

“There is no doubt that Bitcoin has matured in the eyes of the market. A year after the halving, Bitcoin has experienced nearly a 50% increase in value, even in the face of a complex macroeconomic and political environment. This underscores the strength of the fundamentals behind this asset.”

Strength of Web3.

Despite global challenges and trade disputes that have impacted financial markets, the fundamentals of Web3 remain robust.

According to Nazar, Bitcoin’s key metrics—such as the number of active addresses, transaction volume, and hash rates—indicate that the network continues to demonstrate resilience:

“The continued use of the Bitcoin network reflects robust on-chain fundamentals, including the number of active addresses, transaction volume, and hash rates. This is a positive indicator that the network remains widely utilized and that there is long-term confidence among investors. In a context marked by rising tensions and tariff disputes between various countries, BTC continues to thrive due to its limited supply, which enables it to function as a store of value, as well as its capacity for uninterrupted global trade.”

Growth in Bitcoin Reserves.

This outlook is further confirmed by the growing Bitcoin reserves held by various companies.

MicroStrategy (MSTR), one of the largest global holders of the cryptocurrency, acquired additional Bitcoin last week, bringing its total holdings to over US$47 billion.

Additionally, the Japanese company Metaplanet announced further purchases, increasing its reserves to 5,000 Bitcoins.

Similarly, HK Asia Holdings Limited revealed plans to raise US$8.35 million through the issuance of new shares and convertible notes to continue acquiring Bitcoin.
