Vertiv strengthens its market position with $200 million acquisition of Great Lakes
Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure, has signed an agreement to acquire the family of companies operating under Great Lakes Data Racks & Cabinets (collectively known as “Great Lakes”) for a total value of $200 million.
The acquisition is aimed at enhancing Vertiv’s end-to-end digital infrastructure portfolio by incorporating a manufacturer renowned for its highly customized data rack cabinets and other integrated infrastructure solutions tailored for modern data centers.
Strategic Value of the Acquisition.
The agreed purchase price represents approximately 11.5 times the estimated 2026 EBITDA, factoring in cost synergies and cross-selling opportunities.
Through this transaction, Vertiv seeks to strengthen its ability to deliver pre-designed and optimized rack solutions for applications in artificial intelligence (AI), edge computing, colocation, and hyperscale infrastructure.
Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, Great Lakes operates manufacturing and assembly facilities in both the United States and Europe. Its product portfolio includes standard and custom racks, integrated enclosures, seismic cabinets, and advanced cable management systems for both new builds and modernization projects.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025.
