Globant uses AI tools to accelerate YPF’s digital stock trading integration

The integration of stock trading into everyday apps poses new challenges in development, security and user experience.
Globant developed the functionality that allows users to buy and sell YPF shares through its app in two months, using artificial intelligence tools and achieving 35% efficiency gains in the development cycle, according to figures reported by the company.
The implementation also enabled users to check their holdings and transactions in real time. Within one month, one million shares had been purchased through the app, according to information released by the companies.
The project is part of the collaboration between YPF and Globant to incorporate new digital capabilities into the Argentine oil company’s ecosystem. The work included designing and developing the technical infrastructure and user experience required to integrate stock trading, from accessing the Shares section to executing buy and sell orders.
Specifically, the case combines the integration of financial transactions into an existing app with the use of artificial intelligence to accelerate software development.

The functionality was validated by Banco Santander, which acts as custodian and broker for the transactions. This participation is part of the security and regulatory compliance mechanisms associated with the service.
AI in the development cycle.
To implement the functionality, Globant used Glob.AI, a service model that combines specialized agents, workflows and expert supervision. The company reported a 25% improvement in the speed of product implementation, user experience design, mobile development, backend development and testing.
The development illustrates a practical application of AI in a project that integrates different stages of software engineering. The results reported by Globant correspond to the efficiency and speed indicators recorded during this implementation.
“We reached a milestone that has already enabled thousands of Argentines to become YPF shareholders through our App. This achievement is the result of the joint work of teams committed to developing innovative solutions. I want to highlight the contribution and professionalism of Globant, which helped design and implement this digital solution, making it possible to deliver a simple, secure and inclusive new experience,” said Mauro Cercos, general manager of YPF Digital.
Fernando Montero Bolognini, CEO of Globant’s Energy AI Studio, highlighted the joint work with YPF Digital and the combination of artificial intelligence tools with specialized human supervision in developing the solution.
