Vertiv buys BMarko to scale AI infrastructure

The company adds custom manufacturing capabilities in North America to enhance speed, control, and scale in digital infrastructure.

How is the infrastructure powering the artificial intelligence era accelerating?

A U.S. acquisition aims to address growing pressure to build faster, more flexible, and scalable data centers.

The expansion of artificial intelligence is transforming not only software, but also the way the physical foundations that support it are built. In this shift, deployment speed has become a structural requirement for the technology industry.

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical infrastructure, announced the acquisition of BMarko Structures LLC (“BMarko”), a U.S.-based company specialized in custom structural manufacturing.

Rising demand.

The increase in artificial intelligence data center deployments is placing greater pressure on infrastructure to deliver faster and at scale.

The integration of BMarko allows Vertiv to incorporate structural manufacturing capabilities within its Infrastructure Solutions business in North America, with the aim of strengthening its supply chain, expanding engineering and manufacturing capacity, and improving the delivery of manufactured, prefabricated, and converged infrastructure with greater speed, control, customization, and operational discipline.

BMarko has developed differentiated capabilities in structural manufacturing, as well as strong expertise in applied engineering, through long-term projects with Vertiv.

Its integration is intended to strengthen execution, improve materials and process control, and support the evolving infrastructure requirements of customers.

AI transformation.

Gio Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, explains:

“AI is transforming infrastructure requirements, with customers demanding greater speed in capacity, flexibility, and efficiency across the entire infrastructure layer. This acquisition strengthens Vertiv’s ability to help customers move faster, with better system-level performance and greater control, as infrastructure complexity increases.”

Custom infrastructure.

BMarko, founded in 2014 and based in Williamston, South Carolina, specializes in high-quality custom-built structures, including steel and wood frameworks designed for AI factories and data centers.

The company recently expanded its engineering and manufacturing facility to approximately 52,000 square meters (560,000 square feet), located near Vertiv’s Infrastructure Solutions manufacturing operations in the region.
