TCS, UC and Salesforce open path from classroom to AI Jobs

The technology industry is beginning to reshape the way students transition into artificial intelligence professionals.

A new initiative led by TCS, the University of Cincinnati and Salesforce proposes training, certification and employment opportunities even before graduation.

For many students, graduation brings a mix of excitement and uncertainty: the desire to enter the workforce often clashes with a lack of practical experience. At this point, a new initiative aims to bridge that gap starting from university education.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) has launched the TCS My First AI Job program, developed in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati and Salesforce. The initiative provides certification in artificial intelligence (AI) skills, paid work experience, and the possibility of accessing full-time roles at TCS after graduation.

The program is designed to bridge the gap between academic education and the professional world. It targets final-year students and includes an intensive three-month curriculum covering technical, communication, and employability skills.

Through hands-on projects, mentorship, global certifications and interview simulations, participants will develop capabilities aligned with current industry needs and roles within TCS’s talent pipeline.

Real-world work experience.

As part of the collaboration, the three organizations will jointly develop a Salesforce certification program within TCS My First AI Job. This will include a specialized industry-focused course and a fall co-op scheme, allowing students to combine academic studies with paid, hands-on experience at TCS.

The model is designed to enable students to alternate between study and work, helping them prepare for potential employment opportunities within the company.

In addition, the certification will serve as an assessment under real-world conditions, potentially accelerating job placement. For employers, this approach enables faster integration of talent into client projects, improving time and cost efficiency.

The initiative aligns with TCS’s strategy to strengthen local talent development and recruitment in the United States, particularly in Salesforce-related capabilities, amid ongoing business transformation driven by artificial intelligence.

Recently, TCS inaugurated the Salesforce Center of Excellence at its Global Delivery Center in Milford, Ohio, the company’s largest in the United States.

This is complemented by the acquisition of consulting firms Coastal Cloud and ListEngage, moves that strengthen its presence in the Salesforce ecosystem and reinforce its long-term commitment to clients in North America.
