TIVIT and Almawave introduce Velvet, the ethical enterprise AI

Can artificial intelligence be ethical and accessible for Latin America?
How will it change the way companies make decisions and manage their data?
At a time when technology is deeply intertwined with the daily lives of millions of people, TIVIT and Almawave are launching Velvet.
Velvet is a family of multilingual and ethical artificial intelligence (AI) models designed to support Latin American companies in their digital transformation.
The initiative seeks to combine efficiency, security, and responsibility in a single technological solution.
As Leonardo Covalschi, CEO of TIVIT LATAM, explains:
“Companies that adopt artificial intelligence not only optimize costs but also gain in response speed, personalization, and decision-making accuracy. Velvet was designed precisely to support Latin American businesses in this transition, with an ethical, regulated, and economically sustainable approach.”
AI Adoption in the Region
AI adoption in the region is already showing clear signs of progress. According to a KPMG / University of Queensland study cited by Hispanic Executive, approximately 40% of Latin American companies have already begun implementing AI-based solutions.
This suggests that growth is likely to accelerate in the coming years. Velvet offers both on-premises and cloud deployment options.
Its designs are aligned with the European AI Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), emphasizing transparency, traceability, and privacy.
Models and Energy Efficiency
The Velvet family includes models of various sizes. Velvet 25B, with 25 billion parameters, operates in 24 languages and employs advanced reasoning techniques to adjust analysis depth and response times.
Velvet 14B, with 14 billion parameters, handles long-form texts and works in six languages, including Spanish and Portuguese. All models prioritize energy efficiency and can operate on reduced hardware, lowering technology infrastructure costs.
Covalschi emphasizes:
“Total cost of ownership (TCO) is a decisive factor for companies today. Velvet was developed with an efficient and adaptable architecture that reduces hardware and energy requirements, generating direct savings and a smaller environmental footprint.”
Currently, the model is being evaluated in industries such as banking, retail, and energy.
Intelligent automation in these sectors promises to redefine cost structures and accelerate business growth.
