With this premise, Vertiv announced the launch of Vertiv™ Next Predict, a managed, AI-driven service designed to transform data center maintenance, shifting from reactive models to a predictive, data-based approach.

Transforming Maintenance

The company explained that the new solution analyzes asset behavior before risks materialize, enabling the early detection of deviations and supporting informed decision-making.

Next Predict is integrated into the company’s AI infrastructure portfolio and is designed to deliver predictive intelligence across power, cooling, and IT systems.

Its goal is to build a more resilient foundation for AI-powered data centers.

Data Center Challenges

The announcement comes at a time when AI workloads are redefining operational demands on data centers.

According to the company, these facilities now require greater visibility and control over their critical infrastructure to sustain operational continuity and performance at scale, particularly in distributed environments.

Ryan Jarvis, Vice President of Vertiv’s Global Services Business Unit, explains:

Applied Predictive Intelligence

The service leverages AI-based anomaly detection to continuously monitor operational conditions and identify early-stage deviations from expected behavior.

This is complemented by a predictive algorithm that evaluates the potential impact of each anomaly, assesses risk levels, and helps prioritize responses.

Subsequently, an initial root cause analysis isolates contributing factors, enabling more precise resolution. Based on system data and operational context, prescriptive actions are defined and executed with the support of Vertiv™ Services’ qualified personnel.

Vertiv detailed that the solution was designed with versatility and future growth in mind.

Currently, the service supports a wide and expanding range of the company’s power and cooling platforms, including battery energy storage systems (BESS) and liquid cooling components.

Moreover, its architecture anticipates integration with future data center technologies as part of a unified “network-to-chip” service model.

This enables organizations to scale as their infrastructure needs evolve.
