AI in the corporate world

The SAP report presents findings on how companies in Latin America perceive and adopt artificial intelligence.
It reports that 43% of decision-makers view AI positively and another 38% recognize its potential, while 43% of companies are already seeing tangible results from their AI strategies.
AI implementation is a top priority for 70% of companies, with efficiency and productivity, improved customer service, and cost reductions identified as the main benefits.
Customer Service leads AI integration at 64%, followed by Marketing at 43%, Human Resources at 32%, IT at 31%, and Legal at 11%.
The report also examines investment and organizational readiness. Fifty-five percent of surveyed decision-makers plan to increase AI investment compared with 2024, while 50% of Latin American companies already invest in AI training and another 46% expect to begin in 2025.
Sustainability is a key driver for 49% of companies, and AI is also perceived as a complement to human capabilities, particularly in decision-making and reducing human error.
The findings highlight differences by company size and country, with large enterprises generally showing greater AI maturity and investment.
Companies also report challenges including a lack of clarity on how to integrate AI, shortages of qualified AI professionals, and difficulties demonstrating return on investment, particularly among smaller businesses.
