According to The Road Ahead: Unlocking the Future of Transportation Management, 87% of executives surveyed globally are concerned that their transportation management systems (TMS) will not be able to meet operational requirements over the next five years.

The report also found that 37% of organizations still operate transportation platforms that are not integrated with the rest of their supply chains.

This technological fragmentation makes it more difficult to anticipate traffic disruptions, increases costs associated with poor planning and reduces competitiveness in global markets.

The study warns that disconnected systems limit real-time route optimization, hinder efficient scheduling and reduce workforce coordination across distribution centers, ultimately affecting delivery performance.

In practice, integrated data has become a critical factor in improving coordination across logistics operations.
