CMPC deploys AI to accelerate supply chain compliance
Regulatory pressure in international markets is driving new investments in supply chain automation and monitoring.
CMPC reduced traceability processes from as long as 12 days to minutes through a solution developed with Globant.
Globant announced the implementation of an artificial intelligence-based solution for traceability and regulatory compliance processes at CMPC, a pulp, paper and packaging company with operations in more than 45 countries.
The tool was built on SAP Clean Core and SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). According to the companies, the implementation automates document analysis and regulatory validations through artificial intelligence and machine learning. The project reduced traceability processing times from as long as 12 days to an average of nearly three minutes, while also enabling real-time regulatory reporting.
Environmental compliance.
The solution is designed to support compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which requires companies to demonstrate that products sold in the European market are not linked to deforestation or forest degradation.
This scenario has increased monitoring and traceability requirements for manufacturers with global operations.
Operational results.
Among the results reported by the companies are:
Reduction of manual traceability processes from as long as 12 days to near real-time processing;
Processing speed improvements of up to 99.9%;
Real-time supply chain visibility and regulatory reporting;
Implementation of an SAP Clean Core architecture focused on scalability and secure document management.
