NVIDIA expands DLSS 4.5 across RTX games and app

New releases and updates across titles like Samson, Enlisted, and War Thunder expand the use of advanced rendering technologies in the RTX ecosystem.

 


Is DLSS 4.5 reshaping performance and visual quality in PC gaming?


In moments when a video game manages to blur the line between the real and the digital, immersion becomes more than a technical achievement—it becomes an experience. That sense of “being inside the game” is exactly what new graphics technologies continue to push forward, as the PC gaming ecosystem accelerates its evolution.

DLSS expansion.

This week, the game Samson added support for Ray Tracing, DLSS Ray Reconstruction, and DLSS Multi Frame Generation in its latest release. At the same time, titles such as Enlisted and War Thunder, developed by Gaijin Entertainment, introduced support for DLSS Ray Reconstruction when using Ray Tracing effects, alongside DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution for players using rasterized settings aimed at maximizing FPS without sacrificing image quality.

In parallel, the NVIDIA app has exited beta, making the full suite of DLSS 4.5 updates available to all users. NVIDIA first introduced DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution in January, enabling GeForce RTX players to further enhance image quality across hundreds of games and applications through the NVIDIA app.

Last week, an optional beta version of the application provided early access to DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, DLSS 4.5 6X Multi Frame Generation, and an improved AI frame generation model. With the official release, these configurations are now fully available. According to NVIDIA, users only need to open the NVIDIA app to receive the update and access the new features.

RTX game integrations.

Regarding new and upcoming titles adopting RTX technologies, Samson features a story set in Tyndalston, a harsh city where every fight and escape must be earned. The game launched with support for DLSS Multi Frame Generation, along with visual enhancements through Ray Tracing, which can be further improved with DLSS Ray Reconstruction.

DLSS Super Resolution can also be upgraded to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution via the NVIDIA app, while native integration will arrive at a later stage.

Dawn of Defiance is set in a world inspired by ancient Greek mythology. Players take on the role of a fallen Spartan who awakens in a fractured afterlife, where the gods of Olympus have disappeared and chaos has taken over. The game is already available with DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation for smoother performance.

In addition, users with GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs can upgrade via the NVIDIA app to DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, delivering performance gains of up to 6x. DLSS Super Resolution can also be upgraded to version 4.5 for improved image quality.

Expanding ecosystem.

In Enlisted, developed by Darkflow Software and Gaijin Entertainment, players command AI-controlled squads in large-scale battles, taking direct control when needed. The title has steadily expanded its DLSS integration over time. In a recent update, Ray Tracing reflections, shadows, and ambient occlusion moved out of beta with additional improvements.

The game also added DLSS Ray Reconstruction to refine lighting effects, alongside an upgrade of DLSS Super Resolution to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution.

Finally, War Thunder, also developed by Gaijin Entertainment, continues to expand its visual realism with hundreds of highly detailed military vehicles across land, air, and sea.

In its recent “Novena Ola” update, Ray Tracing effects introduced in 2024 were further optimized and improved, alongside support for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, enhancing clarity and visual fidelity on GeForce RTX systems. DLSS Super Resolution was also upgraded to version 4.5, further improving overall image quality.
